FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: How do I know what my base price is?

A: The base price is determined based on the size and coat type of your dog. Dogs with curly coats like poodles and doodles tend to be on the higher end of the pricing scale as well as specialized services such as color or hand-scissored cuts.

Q: How do I know what size my dog is considered?

A: If you’re unsure about the size category of your dog, you can simply choose the option that sounds most appropriate to you during booking. We can always make adjustments on our end to ensure accuracy.

Q: How old does my puppy need to be to get groomed?

A: We highly recommend scheduling your puppy’s first grooming appointment as soon as possible to start getting them comfortable with the grooming process. However, it’s best to wait until they are fully vaccinated, usually around 16 weeks when they receive their first rabies shot, to ensure their safety and health.

Q: What is required for my dog to book an appointment?

A: We require proof of current rabies and bordetella vaccinations. Please also ensure that all dogs are up to date on flea and tick prevention. We will refuse service for any dogs that show signs of parasites.

Q: What if my dog has fleas?

A: To maintain a safe environment for all dogs, we do not accept dogs with fleas. Please ensure your dog is up to date on prevention before their appointment. If any live fleas are found during their appointment, a flea bath will be administered for an additional $25 charge.

Q: What if my pet is aggressive?

A: Our goal is to accommodate as many pets as possible, including dogs that may have shown signs of aggression. To ensure the safety of our staff, please provide us full disclosure of your pet’s history and any relevant information that can help us provide personalized care tailored to your pet’s needs. We may recommend additional steps for you to take in order to safely groom your pet. We are committed to working with you and doing everything within our capability to accommodate dogs that require special handling.

Q: What if I want to book multiple dogs at the same time?

A: Yes, you can book appointments for multiple dogs at the same time by selecting the “add another service” button on our booking page. If you encounter any availability issues, please contact us via call or text for assistance.

Q: How long does grooming take?

We strive to provide every dog with an express 1:1 grooming appointment to prevent prolonged crating. However, we prioritize your pet’s comfort during their appointment and adjust our pace accordingly. The duration of grooming appointments varies based on your pet’s specific needs and their response to the grooming process. We never rush through our work and take pride in our quality and attention to your dog’s comfort. We will provide an estimated timeframe at drop-off and notify you before your dog is ready, so you can arrive at the salon at the appropriate time.

Q: How often do I need to get my dog groomed?

A: As part of our comprehensive grooming services, we create personalized grooming schedule plans tailored to the unique needs of you and your pet. Factors such as your dog’s breed, coat type and desired length are taken into consideration when determining the recommended grooming schedule for your dog. This ensures that your pet receives the appropriate care and attention they need to maintain a healthy and well-groomed appearance.

Q: What is the cancellation policy?

A: We kindly ask for a 48-hour notice for cancellations or rescheduling to avoid a missed cancellation fee, which is 50% of the services booked. If you have an emergency or your dog falls unexpectedly ill before their appointment, please inform us as soon as possible, and we will do our best to accommodate. However, if no cancellation notice is received before the appointment time and you do not show up, the missed appointment fee will be automatically charged without exceptions. Additionally, any arrival later than 15 minutes will be considered a missed appointment and will incur the missed appointment fee.

Q: What if I don’t want my dog to be crated?

A: We make every effort to schedule appointments on a one-on-one basis to minimize the need for dogs to be crated for extended periods of time. While we do occasionally use crates, if you prefer your dog not to be crated at all, we are more than happy to accommodate your request. Please let us know, and we will make the necessary arrangements to ensure your dog’s comfort during their grooming appointment.

Q: What if my dog is very scared or anxious?

A: Our approach to grooming is focused on making it a pleasant and comfortable experience for your dog. We use a one-on-one approach, with private suites that accommodate no more than two dogs at a time per room. This helps minimize stress factors for our pets. Our grooming stylists are all exceptional at staying calm and comforting towards your pet, building a relationship of trust and safety throughout the entire service. We have had great success in transforming stressed-out pets into happy ones using these approaches.

Q: Can you accommodate a late pickup?

A: Our grooming salon is dedicated to providing individualized care with limited space, and our services are designed for specific appointment times rather than all-day stays. We kindly request that you pick up your pet promptly once they are ready. If you anticipate needing more than 30 minutes to pick up your pet after we notify you, please let us know in advance so we can try to accommodate. Be aware that a minimum daycare fee of $25 will be charged for pickups that occur more than 30 minutes after the notification. To ensure the best experience for all our clients and their pets, we don’t allow leaving pets with us for the entire day.

Q: What should I do if I reach voicemail when calling the salon?

A: If you get our voicemail, it means we are busy assisting other pets. Please leave a voicemail or send us a text, and we will return your call as soon as possible.
